Congratulations to Cannon Gerstner, from Salt Lake City, Utah, who won the contest to guess the identity of my replacement vehicle. Cannon guessed that my replacement vehicle is a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. It is actually a 1998 Chevy Tahoe, but I’m closing the contest and giving the award to Cannon because he was so close on his first guess.
Thank you to all who participated in this competition. An honorable mention goes to Paul Shin, also from Salt Lake City, who guessed that I purchased a 1964 Impala. I wish!!
I bought the Chevy Tahoe in Terrace, British Columbia, and it only had 124,000 kilometers on it. It looks like it’s in good shape, but this vehicle has been the bane of my existence since the moment I drove it off the used car lot. I’ve already had to replace the exhaust manifold. And the driver’s side door doesn’t open.

I am staying for a few days in Rapid City, South Dakota, so there should be several new posts in upcoming days. Willie Deford, if you read this, I appreciate the interest, and I am working on a response to your question as to when I became interested in poverty efforts.

I just want to encourage everyone to read T.C. Boyle’s novel The Tortilla Curtain. It’s about the immigration issue and even though it was published over ten years ago, it’s very relevant to what is going on today.
Also, I’m very happy about last night’s elections. My faith in the American people has been restored.

Weren’t the elections results wonderful?! I too had my faith restored. We’re on our way to make great changes I think.
